Samantha Albrecht among Leadership in Law honorees

COLUMBIA, SC – Samantha Albrecht is among only 34 attorneys statewide being honored with SC Lawyers Weekly’s Leadership in Law award.

The annual program recognizes attorneys who have achieved professional success and also have made contributions to the community.

Samantha’s practice at Burnette Shutt & McDaniel focuses on education and employment law. A skilled litigator, she’s unhesitantly taken on big institutions in cases that have included sexual harassment and Title IX violations.

The common thread in her work: A commitment to being a voice for those who have nowhere else to turn when they’re victims of discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, defamation, retaliation and more.

Samantha has served the legal profession through various leadership positions with the SC Bar. She’s led continuing legal education seminars on education law and Title IX.

A member of the South Carolina Supreme Court Pro Bono Honor roll for three consecutive years, Samantha also has donated her legal services through presentations before community groups with a goal of helping people better understand their rights in areas such as employment law. She’s given back to the community through the Bar’s Protecting Our Youth Through Legal Education program that helps make children aware of the potential legal consequences of their actions and encourages them to make better decisions.

Additionally, Samantha has been involved in the Make A Wish Foundation and currently is training for the Chicago Marathon, where she’ll raise money for Autism Speaks.

The official award presentation will be Sept. 21 at a reception in Columbia.

Samantha is the fourth Burnette Shutt & McDaniel to receive SC Lawyers Weekly’s Leadership in Law award. The others are Nekki Shutt, Kathleen McDaniel and Stuart Andrews.
