Rhodes presents CLE at employment law seminar
COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – Employment lawyer Janet Rhodes presented a program at “Recent Developments in Employment & Labor Law,” a continuing legal education program presented by the South Carolina Bar.
The daylong program was the Bar’s annual spring employment law seminar that allows attorneys to earn required continuing legal education credits. A joint venture of the Bar’s Continuing Legal Education Division and Employment and Labor Law Section, the seminar was presented in Columbia and web cast to two other sites.
The sessions included topics ranging from immigration law to OSHA updates. Rhodes addressed the attorneys about the balancing act between protecting and overreaching when formulating non-compete agreements in South Carolina.
An experience employment law attorney, Rhodes has been honored for each of the past three years as a South Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star, and she also chairs the Bar Employment and Labor Law Section’s Equal Employment Opportunity Committee.
Her practice at Burnette Shutt & McDaniel includes discrimination, equal pay, military employment rights and other matters under South Carolina and federal law. She’s represented clients in cases involving the Family Medical Leave Act and the Americans With Disabilities Act.
A South Carolina native, Rhodes graduated from Wofford College with a bachelor’s degree in government. She earned her juris doctor at the Charleston School of Law.
