The strong showing in Best Law Firms comes after an equally impressive performance in the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers in America®. Released earlier this year, that national peer-reviewed guide to leading attorneys included 10 Burnette Shutt & McDaniel lawyers.
The individual attorneys earned honors across more than a dozen practice areas related to litigation, civil rights law, employment law and more. Additionally, firm co-founder Nekki Shutt earned her seventh Lawyer of the Year award for the Columbia area. The 2027 recognition was for her work in Employment Law – Individuals.
About Best Law Firms
To be included in Best Law Firms, a firm must have at least one attorney honored in the same year’s edition of Best Lawyers in America. From there, the Best Law Firms selection process includes research, and client and professional references. The references are asked to evaluate firms in areas such as cost-effectiveness, responsiveness, civility, an understanding of business needs, and whether they would refer another client to the firm. The data is then analyzed, scores are generated, and firms are sorted into tiers with other firms in the same geographic regions and same practice areas.
