Shutt to present program at national unemployment professionals convention
COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – Nekki Shutt, a Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law, will address a national gathering of unemployment professionals next month in Charleston.
Shutt will present a workshop to the National Association of Unemployment Insurance Appeals Professionals during the group’s annual convention, scheduled for June 22-26. She’ll discuss social media as cause for termination.
The group consists of professionals who decide unemployment appeals or who supervise hearing officers. The conference offers a number of presentations and workshops, some of which qualify for Continuing Legal Education credits that are required in several states. Registration for the conference still is open.
Shutt, a veteran employment lawyer, often speaks before legal and community groups throughout South Carolina and the country. She was a personnel department manager and recruiter before launching her legal career. That experience allows her to provide both corporate and legal perspectives when addressing groups such as human resources professionals
She also presents a number of Continuing Legal Education seminars, including one at the South Carolina Bar Labor and Employment Law Section’s Midyear Meeting this month. Her topic was “Negotiations to Dismissal – The Art of Settlement.”
