LeFever selected for Presbyterian College Alumni Board
COLUMBIA, SC – Grant Burnette LeFever, an attorney with Burnette Shutt & McDaniel whose practice includes employment and education law, has joined the Presbyterian College Alumni Board of Directors.
The Presbyterian Alumni Board includes members from several Southern states. The group represents the alumni association, working to keep graduates connected to the college and to each other.
LeFever is a Columbia native and 2013 honors graduate of Presbyterian College, earning degrees in history and English. In addition to her work with the Alumni Board, she’s also service chair for the college’s Midlands Alumni Chapter.
After completing her degrees at Presbyterian, LeFever went on to the University of Mississippi, where she earned a master’s degree in Southern Studies. Much of her work focused on civil rights. She completed her thesis at the same time she was studying at the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Her legal practice includes representing clients in civil rights and discrimination cases. She works with education law issues such as school discipline, teacher employment, special education and Title IX. She also practices family law.
In addition to her work with community organizations, she serves her profession as a member of the South Carolina Bar’s Employment and Labor Law Section and Young Lawyers Division.
