Burnette named to the Super Lawyers list

COLUMBIA, S.C. – M. Malissa Burnette of Burnette Shutt & McDaniel has been included in the 2012 Edition of South Carolina Super Lawyers.

Super Lawyers is an annual publication that rates attorneys across more than 70 practice areas. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

Burnette was highlighted for her work in plaintiff employment litigation. A certified specialist in employment and labor law since 1993, Burnette also is a certified federal court mediator.  She’s co-author and editor of all four editions of Labor and Employment Law for South Carolina Lawyers, and she’s presented more than 50 continuing legal education seminars.

Burnette holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law.

In addition to employment and labor law, Burnette’s practice areas include alternative dispute resolution and family law.
