Cohoon joins Burnette and Shutt in top ratings category

Columbia, SC – Burnette Shutt & McDaniel attorney Jack Cohoon has earned an AV Preeminent® Rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings.

The award is his first in what some consider the “gold standard” for attorney ratings. He joins Malissa Burnette and Nekki Shutt, who have maintained AV Preeminent® awards for more than a decade. They’re also rated AV Preeminent® in Martindale-Hubbell’s Judicial Edition.

The AV Preeminent® Rating is the most prestigious of Martindale-Hubbell’s three categories. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ fall into two categories – legal ability and general ethical standards.

“His performance is exemplary,” one attorney wrote about Cohoon. “He is an intelligent, ethical asset to our profession.”

In addition to applauding his skills in employment law, reviewers gave Cohoon top ratings in litigation and administrative law. His practice at Burnette Shutt & McDaniel also includes civil rights law and appeals.

Burnette and Shutt also received top marks in employment law – both are certified specialists in the practice area. Shutt also was rated highly in ERISA, employment benefits and employee benefits litigation.
