Six Burnette Shutt & McDaniel attorneys listed in ‘Legal Elite of the Midlands’
COLUMBIA, SC – In a record showing for the firm, six Burnette Shutt & McDaniel attorneys are listed in the just-released 2020 edition of “Legal Elite of the Midlands.”
The lawyers are included in a variety of practice areas: labor and employment law, family law, business litigation, and environmental law.
The attorneys listed are:
- Malissa Burnette, labor and employment law
- Jack Cohoon, labor and employment law
- Kathleen McDaniel, business litigation and environmental law
- Amanda Mueller, family law
- Janet Rhodes, labor and employment law
- Nekki Shutt, labor and employment law
The firm has a long track record of inclusion in “Legal Elite of the Midlands”. McDaniel is among only a few attorneys to earn honors in multiple practice areas each year. She’s been listed every year since 2011.
“We’re always pleased to see the great work we do here every day recognized,” Burnette said. “It’s particularly gratifying knowing that the honor is coming from our colleagues right here in the Midlands.”
Shutt said the varied list of honors speaks to the wide range of services Burnette Shutt & McDaniel offers clients. “Certainly a lot of our work here involves employment law, civil rights and making sure people get the justice they deserve. We also take great pride in our reputations as litigators and in our work in areas such as environmental and family law.”
About Legal Elite
“Legal Elite of the Midlands” is an annual publication of Columbia Business Monthly that began in 2010. Every year it honors 10 attorneys in each of 20-plus practice areas. The selection process starts with a nomination from a peer. A vote of active attorneys in the Midlands determines the final list.
