About Best Law Firms

The latest edition of Best Law Firms includes rankings in more than 100 practice areas. The highlighted firms receive consistently high evaluations from both clients and peers.

To be listed in Best Law Firms, at least one of the firm’s attorneys must be included in that year’s edition of  Best Lawyers in America. Six Burnette Shutt & McDaniel attorneys were recognized in the 2022 edition of Best Lawyers and its companion piece, Ones to Watch. They all were ranked in at least one employment law category each, earning 20 honors across 10 varied practice areas. Shutt’s nine awards led the way.

“When people think of Burnette Shutt & McDaniel, they think first of our work in employment law and civil rights,” firm co-founder Malissa Burnette said. “Certainly those areas are very important in our core mission of fighting for clients when they need help the most. But there are so many other ways we can help, from Nekki’s fine work in employee benefits and ERISA to the litigation skills for which so many of our attorneys are consistently recognized.”
